Yesterday I got myself my first Android device(this is not a phone, but a handheld computer that makes phone calls). Naturally, one of the first Android apps I installed was WordPress for Android, developed by Automattic, who owns WordPress.com and manages WordPress.org.
You can get this sweet little app from the Android Marketplace, or by scanning the QR code at the WordPress for Android download page.
Before you can post or edit your WordPress site from any remote device or service, you need to enable Remote Publishing. This is easily done through you admin panel under Settings > Writing > Remote Publishing.
The WordPress for Android app is nice and handy, but it is somewhat limited in formatting options just like Quickpress. It’s really handy for writing or editing posts, or moderating comments on the go. I think I’d publish from the app rather than post as draft, if they were to add headings, and the more tag to the editor.
** I cheated, and did a little touchup from the admin panel, but this was written and posted as draft from my Droid X via WordPress for Android.
